Welcome To The Guinea Grill

A traditional pub and restaurant situated on Bruton place in Mayfair, London. We specialise in serving grass fed British beef, daily caught fish and delicious seasonal side dishes. Guests will find a variety of wines, ales and beers at our bar.

Our Meat

The Guinea Grill has been serving premium dry aged British beef since the 1960s. We are supplied by Godfreys of Finsbury Park, a family owned company, who ensure we only receive the very best cuts each morning.

Our History

There has been a pub on this site since 1423 which was renamed The Guinea in 1675. In 1946, the pub began supplying beef surreptitiously and in defiance of rationing to US diplomats and well heeled locals. In 1952, the silver service restaurant opened, becoming London’s only steakhouse to great acclaim, and it remains the same to this day.

The Guinea is a Mayfair institution; there’s been an Inn on this site since 1423. Our restaurant, the Guinea Grill opened in 1952. We specialise in serving dry aged, grass fed British beef from an open grill. You’ll find a selection of Young’s Ales at the bar and our atmospheric private dining room is perfect for up to 28 people.

We’re ideally located just a short walk away from Green Park, Bond Street and Oxford Circus tube stations.

London’s original steakhouse since 1952. We specialise in grilling the very best beef available in the UK and the fish we serve is sustainable and from British day boats. Our extensive wine list has been specifically designed to ensure there is something for everyone.

Private Dining

The private dining room at the Guinea is an atmospheric pine panelled room located on the first floor. The room can be hired for a variety of private functions for groups of minimum of 12 to up to 28 people.

Award winning pies

The Guinea has provided premium steak and kidney pies with suet lids since the 1940s using offcuts from our dry aged beef.
